Ertuğrul's Leadership and the Battle for Loyalty

The character of Ertuğrul Bey is depicted at its best while he has to deal with dangerous political conditions threatening his tribe. The events unfold in his reign when he has to fight the Crusaders and the Knights Templar, who do not like the fact of his growing authority and plan his assassination. Ertuğrul is put to the task of leadership, in solving the problems and addressing the necessities of his people and the quest or founding a strong state. By motivating and managing his People during the most challenging period, he to some extent played a role of a cornerstone for the tribe’s further evolution. 

 I must note internal and external tension as political machinations are ever a factor with Ertuğrul to face along with turmoil within his camp. His mission is further complicated by power struggles and constantly changing allegiances within the frame work of this tribe. Externally, the plotting of the Crusaders and other Templars makes its incumbent on Ertuğrul to remain cautious to fend of his adversaries in order to safeguard his people. These episodes here present the political machinations up close and personal—the game is always always vital, and any mis-step can be catastrophic. 

 However, within these adversities, aspects of forgiveness, loyalty in comradeship and within the family circle are touched, specifically in Ertugrul’s relationship between friends and family. The new challenges of the character are revealed as Ertuğrul become a leader, who makes important decisions about the fate of the tribe. One of the dramatic nodes of this arc is the rescue of named Bamsi, one of the companions of Ertuğrul, which complicates the theme of brotherhood among people in the struggle. These episodes show us the conflict of interest of individual devotion and collective responsibility which constitutes the characters of Ertuğrul in leading and strategizing.
