The risks are increasingly growing as new challenges appear from outside and inside the realm with Jalal al-Din as a ruler. The Mongol forces persistent and organized advance toward more Khwarazmian territories makes Jalal al-Din perform what could be considered daring and dangerous manuevers. He leads and frightens his men into battle, yet he also makes enemies both incisions and victory bring them to his court. Since Jalal al-Din becomes stronger and stronger, his conflict with his father, Sultan Ala ad-Din Muhammad, escalates. A major fight is also seen towards the end of the episode, and the episode concludes on a cliffhanger.
Beset with considerable pressure, Jalal al-Din finally formulates a comprehensive strategy that will allow them to trap the Mongols. Thus, the episode is filled with necessary battle scenes that reveals the military talent of Jalal al-Din and his generals. Against all likelihood, the troops under Jalal al-Din enjoy some measure of success, enough to gain the time needed. However, this success is at times fueled by, internal rebellions more so due to the Sultan’s increasing paranoia. The court is tense as Jalal al-Din comes into contact with accusations and attempts at regicide from people who want to dethrone him.
When Jalal al-Din readies himself for more Mongol invasion, he also has to face some of his men’s treachery. Factions show their true face, and Jalal al-Din has to do rather dangerous things to strengthen his power. The episode shows more detail in the protagonists and antagonists; therefore, understanding the character’s needs and issues. The political blood thickens and there are different power struggles. There are fictionalized relationships with his family, especially his mother Terken Khatun, which brings human interest in the story.
