Introduction to the Barbaros Brothers

In the premiere of Barbaroslar: Kazıma Noel conversations introduces Akdeniz’s Kılıcı’s audience of the Barbaros brothers: Oruç, Hızır, İshak and İlyas. The initial backdrop to their characters is provided in the first scene when they present their life on the island of Lesbos which they describe as a rather insecure life due to aspects such as piracy and poverty. Oruç and Hızır are portrayed as the main characters who are hard working, diligent and determined seamen who wish to go beyond the horizon to explore the world. Their good relationship with each other and responsibility to fend for their family and the society is well defined at this initial stage to facilitate their future activities. 

 But as the episode continues its central point is given to John and puppy’s first attempts at become sea men. Oruç is the elder and he being the leader of the group teaches his brothers survival and how to remain strong during the hard times. They deal with the pirates and other sea perils to demonstrate enhanced capabilities and clever strategy. These first missions are violent and establish the mood for the rest of the journey, showing the brothers’ desire to create their own future in a world that is full of hostility. 

 It also gives the viewers a possibility to meet key secondary characters and possible opponents as well as establish several major arcs for the show’s season. In general political relations of the Mediterranean Sea with different empires and their alliances, while vague, foreshadow the more extensive conflicts that the Barbaros brothers shortly are going to be involved in. This is where the great story of action and brotherhood starts, the Barbaros brothers set on to win the glory of their lifetime.
